Anxiety Counseling

When worry starts running your day, you don't have to handle it alone

Anxiety can show up as racing thoughts, trouble sleeping, a tight chest, snapping at people you love, or avoiding things that used to feel easy. Counseling helps you understand what is driving it and build tools that actually work in your daily life. Sessions are held by secure telehealth for children ages 5 and up, adolescents, teens, and adults across the Acadiana region and throughout Louisiana.

Is This What You're Feeling?

Common signs that anxiety is taking up too much room

Everyone feels anxious sometimes. It may be time to talk with someone when it starts shaping your choices, your sleep, or your relationships.

Constant worry

Your mind keeps circling the same fears, and it is hard to switch off, even when you know the worry is bigger than the problem.

Physical symptoms

Tension, headaches, stomach trouble, a pounding heart, or feeling on edge without a clear reason.

Avoidance

Putting off calls, skipping plans, or steering around places and situations because of how they make you feel.

Sleep and focus

Lying awake replaying the day, waking up already tense, or struggling to concentrate at work or school.

How Counseling Helps

Practical tools, at a pace that feels safe

Sessions start by getting to know you: what anxiety looks like for you, when it shows up, and what you have already tried. From there we build a plan around your goals, not a generic worksheet.

Work often draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to notice anxious thought patterns and respond to them differently, along with skills for calming your body, setting boundaries, and slowly facing what you have been avoiding. Everything is grounded in a humanistic, judgment-free approach.

  • Understanding your triggers and patterns
  • Skills for calming your body and mind
  • Gradual, supported steps toward things you have been avoiding
  • Support when anxiety and substance use overlap

Who This Is For

Support for kids, teens, and adults

Anxiety looks different at different ages. For children it may show up as stomachaches, clinginess, or school refusal. For teens it can look like irritability, perfectionism, or pulling away. For adults it often hides inside overwork, people-pleasing, or using alcohol or other substances to take the edge off.

If anxiety and substance use are tangled together, both can be addressed in the same place. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addiction Counselor, I work with co-occurring concerns every day.
