What to Expect
What a first session looks like
Reaching out is often the hardest part. Here’s exactly what happens once you do — so nothing about your first session is a mystery.
A free 15-minute consultation
Before anything is scheduled or billed, we have a short, no-pressure video call so you can hear my voice, ask questions, and decide whether this feels like a fit. If it isn’t, I’ll help point you toward someone who is.
The practical parts, up front
Together we’ll walk through confidentiality and your rights under HIPAA, along with insurance, fees, and the cancellation policy — so there are no surprises later.
Your first 60-minute session
We start with what brought you in — in your own words, at your own pace. There’s no clipboard interrogation; we simply talk, and I listen.
Getting to know you
As the conversation opens up, we’ll cover the background that matters — your history, family, health, and any prior counseling — only as deep as you’re comfortable going on day one.
A gentle check on safety
For every new client, I ask a few caring questions about your safety and well-being. It’s brief, it’s standard, and it’s asked with respect — not suspicion.
You leave the first session with a next appointment on the calendar (or a portal link to pick a time that works). No pressure — you’re always in charge of the pace.
How We Help

You're Not Carrying This Alone
Healing happens in connection, not isolation
Whatever you're facing, you don't have to figure it out by yourself. This practice was built to be a steady point of connection — a place where your story is heard in full, your identity is respected without question, and your progress is supported session after session, for as long as you need it.
Clients come from every walk of life, every background, and every corner of Louisiana. What they share is a willingness to be honest about where they are — and that's more than enough to start.
Everything shared here stays private. This practice strictly upholds HIPAA and Louisiana confidentiality laws, so you can speak openly knowing your information is protected.
